Elementary School Newsletter 3.6.2023

Allow me to get sentimental for a moment. I had the pleasure of participating in the basketball games last week between the teachers and middle school students, boys and girls. I have known some of the 8th grade students since they were literally babies. I was so proud to see how much they have grown as students, as athletes, and as individuals. It was a great reminder as to why I love working for them and this school. It helped me remember some of my "why". For some of our elementary students, it will be three short years until I am saying the same things about them. For our younger elementary students, the wait may be longer but it will go by just as quickly. I reflect on my own two children who are in 5th and 3rd grade, and it makes me want to cherish the present. The future will be here quickly. For those of you reading this, I encourage you to do the same. Enjoy your kids at this age because it will fly by!

Get ready for the Spring Book Fair and "all for books" coin drive (March 13-16)!  This year we hope to raise  $400 to  help purchase books for our sister library in Lusaka Zambia! This library serves 19 schools in their community. Our K, 1st, and 2nd graders read and shared their ideas about books with students from the Impact One library during the Global Read Aloud in October. Funds raised by the book fair and coin drive also help us purchase books for the school library, classroom libraries, and PCS students. Visit our book fair website for more information, volunteer sign up, online shopping, and ewallet set up! bit.ly/pcsfair
