Summer Reading Challenge 2024
Our students have worked so hard to grow as readers! Summer break is the perfect time to practice and enjoy the skills they have gained. Students who participate in our summer reading challenge are invited to celebrate their reading with an ice cream party in the fall. Your child will get a copy of the reading challenge and public library bookmarks from their classroom teacher. Or you can find the information here.
There are 4 options for summer reading. Students can choose 1 or more to get an invite to our party in the fall.
1. Complete the reading bingo card on the handout.
2. Take the Public Library Summer Reading Reading Challenge. You can register here. There is a kickoff party in Forest Park on June 1st.
3. Go screen free for 7 days (in a row or spread throughout the summer). This is a family challenge! You can find a screen free challenge card and other resources here.
4. Take a virtual summer camp adventure. This is a free resource for schools and families available now through September! In the Capstone Virtual Summer Camp Adventure, there are six bi-weekly Where Will You Go This Summer? themes that include a choice board and set of 20 FREE Capstone Interactive eBooks for each. You can explore the choice boards here.
You can find all of these options on the 2024 Summer Reading Challenge choiceboard here.
Happy Reading!
