Elementary School Newsletter 5.13.2024
Dear Elementary Families,
10 days of school left! Wow! Our students have been working so hard to show us all that they’ve learned, and we are beginning to wrap up our deep instruction as we move into some end-of-the-year activities. Below, you will find an Elementary School Countdown Calendar with all the fun occurring in our building. Please note that these dress-down and special activity days are specific to the Elementary Building and not the same for Early Childhood or Middle School.
Library News:
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Spring Book Fair and Coin Drive. They were a huge success! We raised $1000 for the Impact One Library in Lusaka Zambia, and purchased many books for the PCS library and the PCS community. Book Fair funds benefit our students all year long by helping to add books to our shelves, purchase new library equipment, digital resource tools, and reading incentives. I've attached a Thank You letter from the Executive Director of Impact One. Thank you again for spreading book love at PCS and across the world!
5th Grade Camp:
Last week, our 5th graders went on an unforgettable adventure at Camp Manitowa! Despite some challenging weather conditions, our resilient students rose to the occasion, and the camp staff ensured our safety and comfort throughout. As luck would have it, we were met with beautiful weather to conclude our trip, leaving our students buzzing with excitement about the fun they had. We want to extend a huge thankyou to everyone who contributed to making this experience possible, whether through fundraising efforts or generous donations. We also want to thank our staff for volunteering their additional time to chaperone and make this possible for our students. It was more than just a camping trip; it was a transformative bonding experience, offering our students the chance to connect deeper with their peers, immerse themselves in nature, and discover more about themselves along the way.
Please see the attached flyer for more information on Camp Manitowa. They offer summer camp opportunities and have scholarships available as well.

Lost & Found:
Please be sure to encourage your student to look through the lost and found before the end of the year. We have a lot of items there that will be donated on the last day of school.
