Early Childhood Newsletter 1.8.2024

Dear PCS Families,

Happy New Year!!!  We hope that you had a wonderful winter break.  It has been so great having our students back in the building!  New year means new goals, right? How many of you set goals for yourself as the calendar rolls into a new year? Setting goals is important for our students and children too.  Setting goals and working towards them teaches children resilience and perseverance. Perseverance and resilience are very important skills in a child’s life and ones that they will use throughout their lives!  We will be setting goals as an Early Childhood building as we head into the second half of the school year and we encourage you to discuss goal setting with your children at home and give it a go.

One goal as we move into the New Year is our attendance.  We know that things come up and illness happens, but being at school regularly is so important!  As we move into the year we will be having more conversations about the importance of regular student attendance with some fun incentives along the way.

Report Cards:

It is hard to believe but Quarter 2 ended on January 5th.  We will not be holding Quarter 2 conferences but rather will be sending report cards home with each child on Wednesday, January 11th.  If you have any questions and want to speak to your child’s teacher feel free to reach out and make an appointment.

Current Student Enrollment for 2024-2025 school year:

Premier Charter School's re-enrollment process has begun.  We use this data to determine how many students will be pulled for each grade level in our upcoming lottery.  Your response with this form secures or declines your student's spot at PCS for the 2024-2025 school year. Click here to submit your household's re-enrollment.

Please complete the re-enrollment form by Friday, January 12th, and remember to list every student currently attending PCS from your household.

** Not completing this form will be considered a decline for next school year. **

If you have any questions regarding the re-enrollment process, please reach out to Erin O'Brien at eobrien@premiercharterschool.org.

A Note from Nurse Abbie:

Parents/guardians,

Please consider donating extra boys or girls pants to the nursing office! We are almost completely out of pants for students to change into in the event of a bathroom accident. We specifically need pants sizes 4-7, both boys and girls pants. Leggings for girls would also be appreciated, I have plenty of skirts or jumpers to layer with.

Thank you!

Abbie Mangogna, EC Nurse

Field Day T-Shirt Order:

This year we are going to do field day t-shirts again. Each building will have a different color like we did last year. We are attaching a link to order and payment will be accepted in Cash, Check or on the parent portal. All payments and orders are due by Feb. 1st. Shirts will not be ordered until payment is submitted. Please check your sizes appropriately because we will not have extras to exchange out.

Thank you so much for your cooperation with this. Please make sure you fill out a form before you make a parent portal payment. To make a payment on your parent portal go to the school store and shop under the field day shirt products. You will add the appropriate size for each selected child to the cart. Then you will proceed to your cart to check out.
