Middle School Newsletter August 29th 2022

Dearest PCS Families,

August has brought me so much joy. Working with staff, both veterans and those new to PCS was so inspiring.Over the next few weeks I will be sharing This team of teachers is absolutely dedicated to your children and want nothing but the very best for them. I can’t begin to express the gratitude that I have for their dedication, determination and love they pour into their classrooms. Our MS teachers can’t wait to reconnect with their students and with you and begin to build those relationships that are quite frankly the most important part of what we do. We are here to support your children while providing them with an engaging and rigorous educational experience.

I always refer to PCS as a really large family and now more than ever I know this is true. Families are full of love and can get messy at times but we support one another even when life gets really hard. I have felt this support, not only from my middle school team, but from so many of you. Thank you for this gift.  Also,  thank you for the priceless gift of trusting us with your children everyday. You have my word they will be loved and cared for when they are with us.

Over the next few weeks I will be highlighting our amazing teachers so that you can get to know our entire MS team a little better. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any concerns or questions you have...there is no concern that is too small.  I am confident that together we will make this a remarkable year!

Kindly,

Kim

 Meet Your 7th Grade Teachers

Hello, I’m Allison Horn and I will be teaching TLC Math and Intervention. If your child receives special education services, I will most likely be his/her case manager. I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and attended SLU for my BA in Elementary Education and Special Education K-12. In my free time, I love to go to concerts, paint, play with my bunny, travel, and spend time outdoors.  I’m excited to start the school year and get to know our new 7th graders! You can reach me at ahorn@premiercharterschool.org and/or ext 421.

Hey, I’m Alexa Franke, and I will be teaching Social Studies. Born and raised in the St. Louis area, I didn’t stray too far from home for my undergraduate studies at Lindenwood University. There, I earned my BA in Middle School Education with an emphasis in Language Arts and a minor in Social Studies. This is my sixth year at PCS and I could not be more excited to meet your students and begin further cultivating a love of learning. In my free time, I can be found exploring the Saint Louis Art Museum with my husband and 6-month-old son, Fitz, reading a good book, or playing with my dog Teddy at Forest Park. I cannot wait to be back in the classroom and getting to know all of you! You can reach me at afranke@premiercharterschool.org and/or ext. 424.
