Early Childhood Newsletter May 16th 2022

Dear PCS Families!

Here we are, the last full week of the school year!  We can’t believe it.  We have had so many fun celebrations and countdowns happening in these last few days.  We are soaking up every minute with your children as we come to the end of this school year.

Summer Reading Challenge

Students can choose their own reading adventures this summer with some great free resources from Capstone, Saint Louis Public Library, and Lightbox Learning.

They can complete a summer reading challenge with SLPL or complete a reading bingo card. Use home or public library books or access over 3000 ebooks in Lightbox Learning's Mega Library, open to us all summer long at bit.ly/pcslightbox!  These books feature:

Digital text in 14 languages (K–2 World Languages)

Virtual field trips through live videos  Audio support Interactive activities and maps

Everyone can access Capstone's 12 week Virtual Summer Camp Adventure through September. Every two weeks, your student will set off on a new journey through a choice board filled with places to GO, learn, make, move, code, use technology, give to the community and read, including from 120 Capstone eBooks.Start your adventure at bit.ly/capstonesummer22. Where will you go?

Don't forget to let Mrs. Ramsey know what reading adventures you and your child took this summer when they come back to school! I can't wait to celebrate summer reading with them!
