Elementary School Newsletter - February 28th, 2022

As I write this newsletter we wrap up Black History Month and enter Women's History Month. It is important to remember that while we honor these months as celebrations, Black History and Women's history are American history. We should recognize this all year as opposed to siloed into just a month.

I am grateful for spring weather this week. I understand we live in St. Louis and we can have 70 degrees one day and 40 degrees the next day. I am thankful that at least for a bit we are putting some of that winter weather in the rearview mirror!

Chromebook chargers:

Please send all chargers that were issued previously this year due to quarantine or virtual learning days. We sent all available chargers last week during the winter storm and are looking to recoup these so that they can be available to all students. If you have a charger please place it in your child's backpack so that they can return it to their classroom teacher.

Before and Aftercare: There is still time to apply for the Before and Aftercare program for the next school year. Apply here... 22-23 SY BAC Application
The 1st lottery will be April 15th and the 2nd will be May 6th. All families will be notified prior to summer break so that they have advance notice to make other arrangements if necessary.

This is for all parents that have kids receiving special education services at PCS:

Dear Parents,

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education values the opinions of all parents in Missouri’s schools. We would appreciate you taking the time to respond to this brief survey about the special education services your child receives. This survey is confidential; your individual responses are not shared with the school district or anyone else. Only a summary of all responses is provided to school districts in order to help all schools improve education for our children.

You may complete this survey online.  Please complete by March 31

Thank you very much for providing your input. (1) Online: Go to http://spec.education/ and enter the following Access Code: JUJYHA
