Dearest PCS Families,

This week marks teacher appreciation week...a week to celebrate the hard work and dedication educators embody. As the famous Mr. Rogers once said “Anyone who does anything to help a child in his life is a hero to me.” We all know how awesome teachers are! They continue to amaze me on a daily basis, especially this year! In the day in and day out of things, it is sometimes easy to forget just how truly remarkable they are and how much heart they put into their “jobs” and how much they truly care for their students. Anyone who mistakenly gets called “Mom” frequently is just proof the important role they have in a child’s life! Take some time out of this week to chat with your child about their teachers, the ways in which they influence and support your child, and how they can say thanks. It doesn’t need to be anything extravagant… a couple simple words can mean a lot and go a long way for a teacher!

Our board meeting last evening marked the last meeting for one of our long standing board members, Sam Martorelli. He spent many hours here in years past visiting classrooms, reading to students, and chatting with teachers. Being a former educator, he truly appreciated the dedication of our team and community and how everyone from teachers to parents to the board wrapped around the students of PCS. I mention this because he embodies what it is to love PCS and what a true family PCS is… from the board to our students. Even this morning, you could find him outside the EC building opening car doors at drop off to welcome in our littles. So in case you were wondering who he was (and not brave like the students to simply ask… “Who the heck are you?”), now you know. Again, a little thing that makes PCS so special!

As always, if you have a question, need to discuss a matter, or need a simple check in… my door is always open.  Feel free to contact me via phone or email!
